Wednesday - Day 116 - May 2 - Cruising Brazilian Coast

Dick has two lectures this morning, one by Terry - “Heroes of the Oceans  - The Wolf of the Sea - Cochran and Brazil” at 10AM. At 11AM there is a new speaker, Bob Warne speaking on “The Amazon -The last Frontier.” As usual Terry has a good talk and Dick says the new guy does a good talk also, better than the last two speaker of their type.

Carolyn goes to Quilling with Sarah and starts a complicated card of a bouquet of flowers. When we go to the Compass Rose for lunch she sees two friends with really good looking pizza. She ask about it and Mario says he can order it off the room service menu for her. So she calls Dick to see if he wants to share one. He comes immediately and we order one plain and one with the works...extra crispy please!! Our first pizza in months...it is so good and we eat every last bite! We spend the rest of the afternoon getting the comment cards written and messing on the computer. We had waited to see if they would lower the temperature in the room (back to where it had been), but no such  luck. Having met with the GM and the AC guy, the only thing we can do is lower the rating we give and write why.

At 3:30PM Carolyn goes up to work on the needle point piece with the help of the teacher. So far it looks OK and the back isn’t a big mess yet. She stays for a cup of tea and to read awhile.
It is getting dark really early right now, 5:15PM and full dark by 5:30PM. Back in the room, we decide we are not interested in dressing for dinner so just let our normal dinner hour slide by as we read. It is the Captain’s Welcome tonight, but e skip it. About 8PM Carolyn decides she needs something to eat so she orders three orders of spring rolls, her standing salad order, some rolls and a shrimp cocktail, more than she wants. She figures that Dick will share some of it. When it comes it looks and smells good so we split the items. We fix some dinks and have a mini-feast. The Spring rolls with a sweet and sour sauce are really good. The orders is just right for a light main course. Wish we had figured out about the pizza and tried the room service several months ago.
We have an early tour in the morning in a new port so we expect a busy day.
