Sunday, Day 120 -  May 6 - Cruising the North Atlantic Ocean

Sunday is always a special day on Regent with Jamie’s nice church service and Regents version of Communion in the restaurants....mimosas and caviar!

The sea was very rough last night, lots of loud wave crashes against the hull with the accompanying shuttering of the ship! It doesn’t look  too much better this morning. The skies are dull grey. There is rain in the distance and the humidify is 94%!

We skip breakfast again today and go to the church service. Dick goes on to Terry’s lecture, Devils, Spies and Butterflies - The Story Behind Devil’s Island, The Dreyfus Affair and Papillon. Carolyn goes to Quilling and Sarah teaches how to make a card using little owls with big eyes. It is the most difficult one so far, but really cute!

At noon the Captain tell us we have 300 feet of ocean under us, small waves at 5 feet and winds at 25 knots. The temperature is 78 degrees and the humidity is a high 92%. We are at 3 degrees N and 49 degrees W. We are really bouncing around and the sea is really choppy.
The ship’s movement is causing Carolyn’s knees to hurt so she goes to bed to read, but of course that turns into a long nap. Dick decides that she has a good idea so he joins her.

About 5:30 Carolyn tells Dick she is having room service in bed tonight so he gets dressed and goes for a drink and dinner. He does not like to eat in the room.

The ship is really rocking and rolling now. Looks like we will miss another port tomorrow. We buckle the boys in and turn out the lights hoping for calm seas tomorrow!
