This is the last day of the forth segment. Time is speeding by now! Last night as we sailed from East London, the Captain announced that the sea state would slowly deteriorate over night and we would have 8 to 10 foot swells by in the morning.
We wake to grey rainy skies and a rocking and rolling ship. We go to breakfast and then to a presentation on the Splendor, Regents newest ship that will come on line in Feb 2020. It should have the standard aft suite like we love on the small Princess and Oceania ships, so even though the ship’s size is a little bigger than we like it might be a future choice.
Dick stays for Terry’s lecture and Carolyn goes back to the room to try to get caught up on the blog. With three solid days of touring we are way behind again. Plus the internet is not helping.
Dick doesn’t stay for the next lecture he says it will probably be like the others and be about plants and birds instead of the City its self. So he does a final proof and gets the pictures off the camera disks and smalled so Carolyn can post them.
Meanwhile the judging for the door decorating contest is going on until 2PM so Carolyn goes to check out the doors. The theme is A Trip Across the Indian Ocean. Again it is hard to choose the best. There are some very good ones.
The captain announces at noon that he is doing the best that he can to keep the ship from rocking too much and is satling very close to shore with only three hundred feet of water under us. But the weather is still getting more turbulent. We currently have 10 to 13 foot seas and are expected to increase this afternoon to 15 feet with 35 to 40 knot winds. It is much cooler thank goodness but is as rough as it was coming out of LA.
Carolyn goes to lunch in Compass Rose about 1:15. They have loaded potato soup today. She stays until cards with Julie who is suffering from the ship movement.
Back in the room Dick reads and Carolyn works on the blog. The internet is almost non existent so getting caught up is a problem. She gives up starts reading which as usual turns into a nap.
The ship’s movement gets worse as the afternoon progresses. We have reservations in Prime 7 to night on deck 10. It ought to be fun up there with the ship moving like crazy!

It is hard to walk when we get to Prime, but we manage. The food is good as usual. Dick has lamb and Carolyn has a crab cake. We both have the wedge salad and key lime pie.
It is definitely a night for the bed belts!
