Tuesday, Day 18 -  Jan 23 - Cruising the South Pacific Ocean

Another sea day, our routine is pretty much set in stone by now, rather a boring read. Just to change things up a bit, the seas are finally calm for the South Pacific, but now it is raining! And it rains all day!

There is no history lecture this morning so Dick plays his computer game. Carolyn goes to Sarah’s paper curling class and starts learning how to make a swan for the new card style. Sarah says this card will take two sea days to complete, that the swans are harder to make. Well, Carolyn’s swans look like ducks! Her card may even take a little longer!

Dick works some on the blog while Carolyn gets sandwich up at La Veranda. They have a really good chicken salad sandwich today!

At 2:45 Dick goes with Carolyn to June’s second bracelet making class. Again we are using Kukui nuts that June hand painted with designs and the names of the South Pacific Islands we are visiting plus small sea shells and carvings from coconut shells.  Dick’s bracelet from yesterday needs some help from June. It is too small. Carolyn winds up remaking Dick’s from yesterday and both the bracelets for today while Dick watches. This is not his cup of tea, but he humors Carolyn. The bears are quite happy. They now have two neat bracelets each.

At 6:00 we head to the Seven Seas Lounge (theater) for a South Pacific themed Event of Entertainment and Cocktails for the Seven Seas Society Top Tier Guests! Not sure exactly what that means, but the Regent cast puts on a 30 minute show with songs from South Pacific. The singers are good and it is a fun event. We then head to dinner in the Compass Rose about 6:45. Dick has lamb chops and Carolyn has a small steak and we both have the delicious crab and avocado salad.

Back in the room Dick goes to bed, but Carolyn works on the blog. The internet has been good most days, but was terrible today. Maybe the rain and clouds were causing problems.
