The day starts out with a little overcast, but the sun soon burns that away and we have bright sun and blue seas. We head to breakfast about 9AM. It is heaven to have the food set in front of us and not have to make it first!
Dick hangs around the suite all morning messing with the computer and reading a book he got from the ship’s library. Carolyn goes to her paper curling class. Sarah is teaching us how to make butterflies for our card today. We are supposed to make three of the little suckers and put them artistically on the plain white card! An hour later Sarah announces that we will continue working on the butterflies the next sea day! No one got all their butterflies made muych less a finished card!
According to the Captain, at noon, we have traveled 2,027 miles from LA. The ship is at 21: 33: 19N, 152: 41: 05W. There is 14,400 ft of water under the keel, wind is from the NW 10-15 knots and the seas are 8-10 feet.
Dick skips lunch while Carolyn gets a salad and reads for awhile on the La Veranda back deck. At 2:45 PM we meet up to work on the fish hooks with June. Those turn out to be very nice necklaces. The bears are now sporting two more pieces of jewelry.
About 5:45PM, Dick heads to the Navigator Lounge to listen to Clive on the piano. Carolyn joins him about 6PM. Clive plays a collection of show tunes and other well known pieces that we really enjoy. We head to dinner about 6:45PM and have a nice meal of prime rib and coq au vin.
We have had long rollers all day and they seem to be getting even more active now. We head back to the suite and Dick goes to bed. The motion simply lulls him to sleep. Carolyn wants to go to the Broadway show at 9:30PM but gives up trying to stay awake about 9PM and goes to bed. We are such party animals!!
Our first port of call is tomorrow!
Since our bears will be joining your bears when they get to Singapore, I wonder if there's any chance of a photograph of them in the meantime, please? ;-) I suspect they are looking great in their lei and handmade jewellery!
