Friday, Day 7 - Jan. 12 - At Sea

It is overcast this morning when we wake. We have gained two hours in the last three days so the nights are long and we are enjoying being able to turn over and go back to sleep. There is no reason not to since nothing is open until after 6AM.

We have Prime 7 reservations tonight. There was a big glitch and many, if not all, the pre-departure reservations for Prime 7 from the World Cruisers were canceled or never sent to the ship. The staff is scrambling to make it right. Our original reservation wasn’t until the end of this segment, but when we remade it, we were offered another one. We plan to eat lightly today starting with just a bowl of oatmeal for breakfast.

Back in the room our stewardess has put out several very nice World Cruise gifts from Regent: a medium weight black jacket with logo, a polo style shirt, a pin and a very nice journal. Here are some pictures of the suite and the adaptions we made to get enough 110 connections to be able to charge our I pad, two I phones, Kindle and three cameras plus plug in our two computers. the two 110 plugs on the desk are too close together to allow two plugs so we have an small plug strip with a multi plug cube for the desk. the 220 plug by the lamp table has a power convertor / 110 plug unit that Carolyn is using for her stuff. We are using the big turtles to contain all the little charging cords.
After breakfast, Dick heads off to his history lecture and Carolyn works on pictures for the blog. At 11AM she heads to the dining room for the paper curling class. Sarah is going to show how to combine the shapes we have made into a design for a note card front today. We agree to meet in the dining room at 2:30PM for June’s class on making a fish hook necklace. It is really a class designed for men, but many of the ladies want to make one also.

The noon announcement has us1,590 miles from Los Angeles, with16,700ft of sea under us. The sky has cleared and it is a beautiful day. Wind is 21.2 knots and the waves are rolling swells of 10'. These long rollers have the ship moving some but everyone seems to be out and about. The Pool Deck is
full of sun worshipers.
We meet as planned for the fish hook class and there are maybe 50 people mostly husband and wives. The hook is a hand carved wooden piece and we have leather cords to make the necklace with. It turns out very nice. June and her classes are a real hit!

The class breaks up about 4PM and Dick goes back to the room. Carolyn goes the Galileo Lounge for tea and needlepoint. The music is very nice and relaxing....too much so! We have another nice sunset today.
At 6PM we have the rescheduled block party and then on to our 6:30PM Prime 7 reservations. The food is wonderful as usual, but we can’t really do justice to it!

By the time dinner is over the ship has really started to move and they have had 2 Code Mike’s (Medical Emergency) in the Compass Rose. Guess we will find out about that tomorrow; hopefully it is nothing too serious.

Back in the room we watch a little TV and are soon lulled to sleep by the motion.

  2. Is that a HooToo on the desk with your electronics? If so, is it easy to work? I just got one for a world cruise next year so wondering if it's easy to get working.
